Old Lyme

Talcott came to Old Lyme in 1901. Inspired by the landscape, Talcott entered into his peak period as an artist, with his paintings taking on an increasingly tonal and American Barbizon aspect. He created hundreds of panels and several major works, and his Old Lyme scenes were exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Salmagundi Club, the National Arts Club, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and elsewhere.
